There’s an energy here that has been sadly absent from too many recent Hollywood blockbusters. For 2022, The Way of Water may not be the most intricately made or intellectually rigorous motion picture, but it exemplifies what “cinematic” means today.

Cameron makes you care for this place, for its residents, for its wildlife, and most especially for its whale analogs - a major element of the story, one that curtly reminds us that our own cetaceans may well be our intellectual equals.

In three hours, Cameron turned this Avatar nonbeliever into a viewer who can’t wait for a new sequel every two years. Avatar: The Way of Water truly feels like a fresh start for this series, as Cameron and his team address the weaknesses of the first film, improving the script and characters, while also creating one of the most extraordinary experiences one can have at the theaters.

As with most Cameron blockbusters, “The Way of Water” has a way of pulling you in, surrounding you with gorgeous, violent chaos and finishing with a quick rinse to get the remnants of its teeny-tiny plot out of your eyes by the final credits.

Best movie I have ever seen in my life. It was surreal. IMAX made me feel like I was there. Jaw dropping cinematography, special effects, 3D, sound track, cast, superb acting, and a captivating dynamic plot, make this, hands down, the best movie of the year. Well done to all.

This movie is a technical marvel. From a visual standpoint, i was completely blown away. Story was quite simple just like the first, but it works so well. This movie at is core, is about protecting our loved ones and the planet we live on.

The first and third hour are very good. The middle hour is good but a bit slow. But it’s a magical movie. And I suspect on repeat viewings it will grow on me.

There are many good and positive points, like the fabulous world, the action, and many other things. BUT overall it's a copy/paste from the previous movie. The WOW-Effect is therefore only moderate.

overrated copy and paste plot except in reverse roles this movie is just visual glorification. the story is flat and an uninspired avatar one 2.0 resurrecting dead characters its turned a simple concept into another fast and furious when the stakes doesn't even matter anymore.
