Overall, the folks at Complex Games have done a great job adapting one of the most popular tabletop games in the world and turning it into a video game. Ironically, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters feels like the natural evolution of the XCOM franchise.

Ferocious turn-based strategy game with incredible Warhammer flair, encouraging upgrades, diverting segments and a few balancing flaws.

Warhammer 40 000 Chaos Gate - Daemonhunters is without a doubt one of the best games of the license, it's beautiful, with a neat art direction, and a fantastic atmosphere that pays tribute to the brutality of its universe. The gameplay elements are well thought out, from managing the ship, to preparing the troops, and especially the turn-based combat. It should satisfy fans of tactical games with its myriad possible approaches to commanding its Grey Knights. Not everything is perfect, there are a few clumsinesses, and it becomes quite repetitive at some point, but it didn't spoil the experience.

A nice turn-based game, quite similar to XCOM but not a clone: a good use of the Warhammer license.

Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters is a solid turn-based strategy game that plays to the strengths of the 40k license. Those without an attachment to turn-based strategy or 40k might struggle to get past the complicated UIs and slight jank, but it’s worth persevering with as it’s an engaging entry in an unloved genre.

Plagued with technical issues partially resolved patch after patch, Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters has also problems in terms of balancing and AI. The boss fights are well done, but it’s also a little monotonous as you find yourself playing the same dull couple of missions from the start to the very end of the game.

Stands out from the crowd of 40k games, and the best PC tactical game in a long time as well!

If you like either, this one is nice.

Very good, in the future with new playable factions and campaigns it could be much better than XCOM (universe and stories with much better potential).

The vibrant tech blue of the HUD is a little overstimulating at times, and some what confusing. Was surprised at some of the stiffness and lack of facial animations in some cutscenes, especially since the voice acting is pretty good. I love the stylization of the game, I think this is the first one of the genre that really captured the goofy nature of the setting (original satirical 40k) And it's so refreshing especially with the art direction for the genre goin full tilt on the edge factor lately. Vibrant colors and big shapes really make me hope that they will make more games goin forward. Seriously made me take another look at old 40k modles Expand
